This ^^^, but I would never carry a Glock for more reasons than I want to get into here, however I will never trust one, EVER. The Ruger has issues but is a good gun, and the Smith is a bit overpriced for what you get.
I carry the 1903 because it is a thin single stack and very light, yet .32acp has plenty of knock down. I also have a Khar PM9 and I love it. One of the few sub compacts that fit my large hand.
I also tend to be a wheel gun guy, and carry a Detective in .357 (however I tend to load .38+p as, really, .357 is just overkill)
Remember you don't need 15 shots and 900000000 pounds of force. Most defense shots happen inside of 7 feet and tend to be 1-3 rounds fired. I don't care what kind of bad *** you are, you get hit with even a .22 in the chest, you ARE going down.
About the only round I wouldn't carry is the .25acp.

And probably goes without saying, but having an edge or blunt force back up weapon is always a good idea. Close distance/quarters draws can be problematic if the target rushes. So I also like to have a knife, flashlight, and a brass knuckles type item.
Yup. Like I said, they are continuing to walk a tight rope with this one.

Yep, Colt 1903 pocket hammerless. I adore the gun, have seven of them (various gen 1,2,and 3) it is my goal to get one of every model ever made. I even have one I have documented proof of having been carried by my great grandfather in the trenches of wwI. Still shoot it too.

You should carry a type 14 Nambu...
(I am kidding, the 8.5mm Type 14 is one of the most dangerous handguns ever made. The transfer bar is outside the frame on the side. you can fire the gun just by pressing in on it. )

On the subject of guns....Went to stock up on ammo last night and it seems the whole state of CA is frantically buying AR-15's because at the end of this year they will be effectively banned due to a change in laws affecting bullet-button assault rifles...
Why am I only learning about this now? No more ARs next year? Am I getting this right?

There might still be some people that will be selling feature-less ARs, but I will bet that they will be more expensive.

Plus, up there I can make a nice 9" CQB with a suppressor, all nice and legal. Good luck getting class 3 in CA.
