The Walking Dead

Slow 2nd half season so far.
In other related news, AMC will be producing a spin-off of The Walking Dead, set in Los Angeles when the zombie outbreak first occurred. AMC has green-lighted 2 seasons for the spin-off, with each season consisting of 6, 1-hour episodes. Cliff Curtis will star as the main character.
6 episodes are quite short for a season, but oh well. Most likely will be aired during the summer when main series is on hiatus. Looking forward to seeing episodes set in a major metropolitan area. Hopefully means more action.

I'm looking forward to the Walking Dead LA this summer. This season of Walking Dead was quite slow. At least the LA version will be in a major city and have lots of action, I hope.
Next season looks like a rehash of the Terminus/Governor storyline, but with different people.

I liked the Original Walking Dead premiere better. But the LA version has much more potential for action (even though there wasn't much in the pilot episode).
The show did pretty good in the ratings. Raked in 10.1 million viewers in live+same day ratings, highest ever for a series premiere cable show.

I enjoyed ep1. At least in this ep, FearTWD is going to be different from TWD. It seems that TWD had to cater to both zombie gore fans, and the post-apocalypse (happens to be by zombies) fans. I'm one of the latter so I don't need the splattering gore and gross out in every episode.
I kept waiting for the zed to jump out at the parents when they entered the church (both times) but it never happened, and I applaud FTWD for that. The zed only showed up at the end; and they dealt with it in a reasonable way... that is the parents didn't do anything... and it took their druggie son (who actually experienced the zed prior and had time to at least partially process it) to be bold enough to use the car as a weapon.
I'm going to have to watch a few shows though because I still don't care much about any of the characters yet. Well maybe the hot daughter.
BTW, I thought for sure the mom got bit... did she?
Nick's character was annoying the whole ep... yet I applauded him at the end. I'm guess Nick has great potential as a character that "grows" and eventually becomes a favorite.
