Time to sell, your advice please!
Hey there everyone. I think the sad day has finally come. After 9 years, I'm ready to sell my WRX & move on. I JUST finished doing all the suspension mods, it's basically ready to have some fun at the track but has never been. I'd hate to start pulling parts & would much rather sell it as-is to someone that will really enjoy it. However, there is the issue of finding that right person that understands and appreciates the modifications that have been done to a used, high mile subie haha. I purchased the car with 130k on the clock & have just been doing a few mods here & there every year since:
Okay, here's the run down:
-2002 WRX sedan
-210k miles
-Runs like a top, goes through NO oil/coolant/fluids at all (I know I'm gonna regret selling this one haha)
-The paint is in rough shape. The clear coat is starting to give up.
-Has a good number of door dings.
-Has a good number of mods: MOD LIST
I've done all possible maintenance, including timing belt, all fluids with RedLine, Cocktail in the Trans and Rotella T in the crankcase.
Right now, the bone stock version of the car in it's current condition is worth about $4700 on KBB. I really don't have any of the stock parts lying around or a garage to wrench on it a whole lot. In everyone's opinion, would it really be worth sourcing OEM parts to sell the aftermarket stuff separately? Or would I be better off holding out for the right buyer to hopefully sell it for slightly more as is?
Slight rust under paint in this one spot:
Example of what the clear coat is doing:
One of the rougher parts of the car, missing paint, a little rust & misaligned bumper:
