How much does the cla45 amg cost? How much is a gr? Dont buy a honda and ask for ferrari features...
Also, my wrx gr has 300awhp and 350wtq... and I average 24.5mpg mixed driving... if you get 20mpg and are worried about it... stop driving like a dick.

Subaru is fine imho. They have a great aftermarket following. Want more power? No problem. Want more fuel efficiency? Check out a prius or learn to drive.

Its another case of you get what you pay for... we drive subarus. We dont drive crazy expensive cars... they cant have the best everything...

Of course it does. Not saying the AWD is the only cause. But it is a big part of it.

You must be powering your car with some magic dragon juice because the mileage I'm getting seems to be quite normal (18 to 22 mpg) - lots of people have posted the same thing in IWSTI.

Lots of sport cars released in the last 10 years have more power than STI along with better gas mileage - the 370Z is a good example. 320+ HP on a six cylinder, gets 26 MPG highway, and it starts at 29K. I don't believe these are "ferrari" features.

If your 4 cylinder engine design sucks that your competitors are making power power, more torque, larger displacement and at the same time are more fuel efficient then something is quite wrong.

Isn't this a big factor into why the FA20 motor was designed and becoming more popular? I mean the new FXT gets 28 highway and puts out 250 hp (tuned down, I'm sure). Smaller motors with turbos is the key to mileage, and Europe sure has it figured out. Also emissions plays a big role, otherwise every other car out here would be a TDI.

Why do you still own a subaru?

Then go buy the 370Z and STFU. I don't know about you, but I will take my high resale value, my five star crash rating, my top rated award winning bumper to bumper build quality, and my 150k millage motor...that I point out will blow your "370z" away both in the 1/4 and on the track.

I got 24/25 on the highway in stock trim.

Hell, I get 20mpg on the highway now with e85!

So I think you must be getting on the gas a lot. Only thing that would cause worse gas mileage would be being in boost a lot.

I always get 27-28 on the freeway on long hauls, like this weekend. It is the short ones that kill you.

At least it is AWD, but in a few months the windows won't roll up anymore because: VW.

Although I'm new to Subarus, I've had a variety of expensive, high performance Germany vehicles. The German vehicle performance is great but the high maintenance cost headache, coupled with extremely low resale value (compared to the high entry point), was a huge factor into moving to Subarus. If that changes I might revisit but for now I'm sticking with my Subie.

Every car you get is going to have its ups and downs. Some more so than others, its your choice. You choose your poison. After owning an s2000, i really like the maintenace costs of the subie vs the s2k. Also modding prices too lol
