Looking good, time for the install - you guys gonna take pics?

Heedz, is the grey RTV you mentioned the "Permatex Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker"? which is around 4$?

http://www.autozone.com/sealants-glu...uestid=4735676

I bought the red one, not quite sure what the difference is between the two.

Autozone also has an Oil Pan Gasket for 13$.

I think the red stuff is higher temp, more for exhaust and similar applications. The grey and the black are the best for sealing oil, and the blue is mostly for water. That was just my understanding of it... Not sure how accurate it is. Always used grey for valve covers and oil pans on my Honda.

Sounds about right.

Yeah we use gray on all the miatas that get oil pans re sealed.

Don't use the gasket it will leak guaranteed.

Thats a good video, the guy was able to get his whole hand behind the pan... to help locate the bolt.

Are you guys using gaskets or just gasket maker?

In one of the thread, there was resistance about using silicone because it might end up in the turbo bearings... maybe you guys have ball bearing turbos?
