Wow, that would be amazing, especially if the car looked like that... Looks like an Aston Martin.
If this car is true to it's word, with as much performance as they are pushing, it will be a phenomena. Sort of how the SRT-4 swept the US due to it's high output motor and small price tag, if this car sells for the mid 20's and has the performance that it claims, I predict a decrease in WRX sales.

I'm amazed at how many folks don't like the way this car looks... It's def ONE OF the nicest looking car that Subaru has EVER produced short of the GC/GD Impreza, and a few Legacy models.
Stock vs stock, that car looks like a Ferrari compared to some of the subaru's that exist today. That's the sort of car that doesn't need to grow on you, unlike most subies, like the bug eye'd impreza for example. When that thing came out I cried a little... But as time went by and the aftermarket world picked up, I started to really like the GD body, though I'm still very glad that they ditched the bug eyes and went on to greener pastures like the blob and hawk eye models. I don't know what the hell Subaru was thinking when they came out with the new models, especially the new sedan... OMG, what sort of drugs were they on when they conceived the new sedan!? The new hatchback STi looks ok in stock form, much better now that I've gotten used to it a bit, but I do admit that it can look REALLY nice when outfitted with some aftermarket parts such as a grill and tail light replacement. The grill and tail lights are def the worst features of the new model hatch.
My point is, that car looks GREAT in it's stock form and will take no time to get used to since it already looks nice, unlike most Imprezas when they first come out.
I still have to argue that through all the years and history of Subaru, the most amazing looking car title goes to the infamous hexadecimal of 555, the notorious and astonishingly ferocious (for it's time), the mother f'ing 22B! (Long *** name, the" Subaru WRX STi 22B Impreza".
For the n00bs who have no idea what a 22B is, it's a very limited edition wide body 2.2L GC (Actually a GM since it's 2 door) Impreza coupe that came out in 1998. It's the only "Super car" that Subaru has ever built, even more amazing then the Electra or S202 models that came later. Some argue that it's not anywhere near a super car, but to me it's more then a super car, it's an f'ing 22B!

Good view of the wide fender blisters
I mean, how could they POSSIBLY make this any better looking?
You can't really tell in this picture, but it has the first ever adjustable rear wing which is unique to the 22B. It had 3 different positions you could set it to, from mild to very aggressive down force. The entire exterior of the car is different then the standard STi of that year, front the bumpers to the hood vents, the only thing similar is the roof, trunk lid, and doors.
The only Impreza owner that has a 22b wide body kit on their car is Gagan (JOLTDUDEUC).
Imagine if Subaru followed the lead of Ford and Chevy and decided to make a retro version of the 22b, a modernized GC wide body monster! I would sell everything I have to own that if it was real, my STi and GC would be gone faster the a .308 bullet leaving a 24" barrel. Just imagine it, small, powerful, wide body, and aesthetically amazing!

It's def striking! I think it's the tail light that looks a little off, but the rest of the car looks AMAZING! I'm glad it's not all round, I love blunt cars with sharp lines. That thing will be SICK if it comes out. I might have to buy one, which means selling my STi!
