Am I the only one wondering how a race car driver crashed that badly on what seems to be a big wide open straight?

I have a feeling it was an Ebrake 180 gone bad. Some idiot used to do that in front of my work going 50. You could easily lose control, hit a curb and bounce into a tree or pole.

Engine in rear might have been a factor

I dunno every impact i"ve seen of these cars looks horrible. I know they are are suppose to break apart to dissipate energy but i'm not buying it with these cars.

Definitely sucks big time.

What's up with celebrities dieing in Porsches?! First James Dean, then Ryan Dunn, now Paul Walker, what's up Porsche? Maybe after all these years you should change some things on your cars.

To be fair when any car is going 60+ and goes sideways into a tree, its going to crunch up and go up in flames. We have no idea if the car Paul was in had Nos bottles and all sorts of other mods. These modded cars don't exactly pass safety inspections.

Porsches are a helluva lot harder to drive aggressively than a lot of people realize. It actually kinda scares me seeing so many old rich guys and filthy yuppies there are tooling around in Porsches -- every single one of them is a potential 3,000 lb hunk of metal spinning out towards me.
