Indifferent. My Jewish side will not allow me to spend money on the required high end source equipment to eek out the best sound possible out of HD800 or similar grade headphone

I, too, was shocked how expensive Beats are and the money people are willing to pay for a fashion accessory...most of them are probably fake and made by my people though.

My headphone stand finally came and the K701 has the HD650 for company now.

I just got a pair of Beats In ear wireless/bluetooth. (free)

The sound isn't that great. I've gone through most of the ear plug sizes to see if it's just the fit. I'm not all that impressed. But, it was free, and the wireless portion is great for working out. I do like the fitment of the part that goes around the ear. They at least hold it in place really well.

Going to be ordering me some AKG 7XX's from the Mass Drop deal going on now, basically the same as the 65th Anniversary $650 headset but for $200. Main difference is the MD version is made in China instead of Austria. I was going to get some Audio Technica ATHAD500X's but decided to spend a little more and see how they work out for me.

I need to get my Sennheiser PC 350 SE's fixed, I think my cat chewed through the cable. I tried to cut out the section that looked like it was chewed up, so now I need someone that can possibly solder the cables back together. I think it can be soldered back into the area that goes into the PCB inside the ear cup and work again for my gaming. Sennheiser does not offer parts for their Special Edition headsets so it's either ship them back to them or just toss them in the garbage.

If I lived in the bay still I would be more than happy to fix em for you. I used to repair mailing machines daily that would often require board soldering. You might want to give it a try yourself! Its not that hard with the right tools.

If you don't take a crack at it yourself there is a TV repair store in redwood city I have gotten lots of stuff fixed at: West Bay TelevisionElectronics Repair Shop3219 Middlefield Rd, Menlo Park, CA 94025(650) 249-6832

Edit:guess its in Menlo park...

Science shows that almost no one can hear the difference between a proper 320kbps mp3 and CD audio. Tidal is simply CD audio.

There is program that tests you for this, better than Tidals, and if you do it 100x you will be near 50%, which means you can't tell and are guessing.

I like DVD-A and Bluray Audio. I feel like I can hear a difference over CD there. I don't like DSD, I feel like its a total sham.

"...Many listeners cannot hear the difference between uncompressed audio files and MP3s, but when it comes to audio quality, the size of the file isn't (ahem) everything. There are plenty of other ingredients to consider, from the quality of your headphones to the size of the room you're sitting in to, well, your own ears..."

They forgot to include the quality of the player and/or amplification...the bestest quality master recordings will sound like **** through an integrated laptop sound card with un-amped AKG 7XX series

...and said program is??? But I agree on the 320kbps vs CD audio statement.
