That sucks. Never seen the 22oz. My wife loves the regular seasonal Wheat Ale with the red label. Weird thing is, we have had it a lot but not this year. We got several packs then, went to BevMo to restock and there was one VERY dusty 6pack with twist-offs (meaning, very old) but we bought it anyway and it was nasty, skunked to hell. Haven't seen it since at any Peninsula BevMo's but the one in Antioch has a few, among others. Just odd is all.

What was with the 22oz - was it a special brew like the Harvest series?

There's always a bunch of the Sierra Wheat at the grocery store I frequent. There was some tonight even! I rarely see the slot empty.

So what beer pairs well with Stouffer's Mac & Cheese?

Hmm. Location of beer? PM me if you don't mind, I am down for a drive. Did you notice if they were twist-offs or not? Hoping not.

Beer... How about a rubbish bin?

Seriously though, something light like a lager - Longboard would be an excellent choice but I think you don't like it for some reason. It's light, yeast-less flavor would nicely complement the fairly mild flavors of pasta like mac and cheese, but never had the packaged stuff so I dunno about that. My real suggestion would be a bottle of Augustiner Edelstoff, which is the best lager-style beer I have ever had. Their Helles is similar and a bit drier.

Usually I like a good ale with food, but the yeasty overtones in even something as mild as a Sierra Pale would possibly not be friendly with the subtle flavors of mac and cheese. For example, if I have something like fettucini alfredo, I would not have it with an ale or a dark wine. It would be a lager/helle like Augustiner or a white like Gewurztraminer. American or light hefs could be good too, but something like a Franziskaner would have too much spice to it. IMHO.

While moving stuff into a friends house yesterday she said "I have two beers in the fridge, do you guys want them?" I debated it for .5 seconds and then said sure. She handed me a Lagunitas Maximus IPA..

WOW that was thick, but pretty good. On an empty stomach I was headed towards We had to run to In n Out to fill my gut!
