--OFFICIAL-- BAM Car Show Poll (allowing or not shop cars)
OK......
So This has come up a few times. So I want you all to get a chance to cast your vote and be heard.
Some people have expressed that we should NOT allow any shop cars of any kind in this years show. Since there will be a differant vendor area for them to display their cars. We should keep this show open the members that pay full boat.
So what does this mean.
If you have paid full retail on parts and labor to build your car or buy parts at retail and do the install work at home.. This would be your chance to shine.
This vote passing would bar people that get discounted, work at a shop, sell subaru parts, or have otherwise not paid full price for parts that have been installed on their car or the labor that took in building their car.
We want to weed out cars that are "shop cars" or people that get big discounts or parts at cost.
I would like to see as would others like to see this years show to go to the people that work hard for what they have and give them the recognition they deserve.
Retail settings are what we are looking for. Group buys and so on are ok.
We just dont want to see joe blow that works at joes speed shop that can pull parts at cost or close to cost building up his car. Then swing in and stealing someones thunder that has worked and paid for their car.
So group buys,
10% off parts would be fine.
Even buying second hand parts from the forum.
So what do you all think?

Also I dont think its right for " sponsered" cars to swoop in and take it away.
There has been allot of people spending hard earned cash to have what they have. I think its fair time to let them shine.

I do not think there is enough prize stuff to go around this year. Everyones kinda cut back to make it thru the bad times....
I think the shop cars are geared more towards winning customers anyways...

I built my car all on my own money(plenty of people to vouch). My car sits in the shop, possibly considered a shop car. So I say no, but either way my car is gonna be at BAM.
ANYONE can get price breaks... shop cars or not.

my opinion is: this poll thread is very vague and grey. im willing to bet 90% of serious car enthusiasts have had discounts at least once or a few times in their project..whether its 10%, 11% or 50%. there are many many deals out there, left over stuff sitting around shop for cheap, used parts for dirt cheap. it just really depends who you talk to and if you are at a given place or with a given someone at the right time.
the gst L is a shop car. adam's time attack sti does sit at the shop he works at, but isnt considered a shop car. post#1 seems a little harsh for many
i think most people already know for sure the fine lines,
but at least take away the bold border of 10% heh
all in all, of course, i vote for no shop cars
