I'm actually in Mountain View. If you or anyone else wants to drop by and check out the car, just PM me. And my favorite kind of beer is Red Bull.

Nice work, can't wait to see it in person!
Thanks Gagan. It's been a while. I will definitely bring the Mini out to a meet when I get it finished. I'll have to take you for a spin.

The brakes, as well as the rear aluminum swing arms and a few other bits, were made by a company in England called Kent Auto Development (KAD). My Mini-loving friend told me a few years ago about all the crazy modern parts you can get for a Mini, but when I actually saw these KAD parts I suddenly realized I had to build a crazy Mini of my own. Take a look at their catalog:

Please everyone ignore Brian. He's come to steal my thunder! My car's completion date is months out and his will be running in a few weeks. What a jerkstore!

Yes, I actually did get a few things done, mostly figuring out all the final parts that needed ordering. Should have everything in my grubby hands by this time next week. And then I'll have her running in mere hours.

Joe - your work is spectacular, seriously the attention to detail and scope of the project is inspiring. I still have my Mini but sort of in limbo with it since I never drive it, wife wants me to sell it, it will need restoration work soon and I have this Impreza swap project at the same time. I just got caught up on your page and now all I can think of is how much I want to drive the Mini to work today.

And yeah, if I ever do mod my Mini as far as suspension/brake work, it's going to be KAD parts - that stuff is just stellar.

Bloody MiniExvo people

Going to get to work this weekend on a few more things. Hooked up the engine on Tuesday and it fires straight up phew so at least its still running LOL

You're not months out, you'll have it up and running in no time - Summer is calling.

Getting closer. Hopefully the engine will fire in the next few days.

Although my car won't be ready for this year's show, I'll still be attending the Hayward Mini Meet this Saturday. Brian (Irishdude) should be there in his Z Cars Mini (at least he better!). The show is free and will have more than just Mini's there. Check my site out for photos of last year's meet. I hope to see some of you there.

Yep. That's about the best way I could find to make the switches reachable from the driver's seat once I'm harnessed in.

And no, I sold the Evo.

No idle adjustment on the roof-mounted control box. Just ignition, starter button, kill switch, reverse button, and muffler bypass switch. My friend Steve is reaching up there to fire up the engine. He wasn't exactly sure how to switch it back off though, which is why he keeps looking back at me.
