Unhappy New wheels are rubbing

Does anyone know of anyone or any place that can roll my rear fenders (and how much)? I just picked up a set of 17" rims and tires (48mm offset) and the tires rub against the rear fender trimming during fast corners or when there is people in the back seat (car lowered using Perrin springs). Any help would be much appreciated.

Go to the bottom of the BAIC forum page and use the Search function for 'roll' and 'fenders'. I found a few useful threads where people had local shops roll their fenders.

Don't expect miracles, however. Even with the proper equipment, the paint on the inside of the lip may still crack just because there is no flex agent mixed with the paint.

Some folks dial in a little rear wheel negative camber to tilt the tops of the wheels inward.

Do try to correct it with an allignment!Wingless Wonder is correct in that advice , it worked for me and I use progress springs which are even lower than Perrins. Rolling fenders is drastic plastic surgery.

what size are the tires? if you have anything wider then 225, the fenders will most likely need rolling.

I'm using 225/45/17 Yokohamas. I already have -.5 camber on the rear using Whiteline Camber bolts. I don't really want to put more negative camber due to uneven tire wear.

get stiffer springs or upgraded struts. The perrin springs are almost like a stock spring but alot lower. When i have people in the back of my car i scrape alot when going over bumps because the springs are really soft.

I'm already using AGXs w/ the Perrin springs (set on 2 front/rear). Any stiffer on the rear and the ride will be too harsh for my daily commute (from UC to SSF Mon-Fri). I don't think I have much of a choice than to roll my fenders. Just need to find a place or people who know how to do it. If anyone can help out, I'd sure appreciate it.

Did you try cutting the rubber out of the inside of the wheel well? That solved my rubbing problem.

Took your advice and did that this morning. No rubbing so far...thanks for the advice. I think I'm still going to end up putting more camber in the rear (for when I have passengers in the back).

here's a quick, sure fire way of fixing your rubbing problem, here's what you will need:

a sawzall, and a 5 pound sledge hammer

First cut out your fenders with the Sawzall.....

Then "roll" them with the sledge hammer

when finished your car will look very similar to a rock crawler....but your tires wont rub....

LMAO!

j/k
