My best friend has had his Z5500's since the year they came out, he uses them every day because it is his main home theater sound system and he has had no problems (and this guy likes to turn them up to damn near full volume on a regular), other friend has had his for i believe 5 years and he too uses them daily for everything, I have had mine for 3 years same with another friend and no problems. I suggest them to people who are on a budget and want good clean clear sound, They are THX cert and leave a small foot print. Another plus is they are not hard wired so you are not wire limited when trying to position/mount them in a room.
If you want to hear them first hand and hear them compared to a nice home theater, hit me up.

What's it going to be for or what sources (PC, HT, etc..)? I think I mentioned I used to have my own small business doing home theater. We can talk and I can get you setup with something good on the cheap if you like. PM me.

I've always liked the Klipsch set. I have both the 4.1 and the 2.1. But in all honesty, I couldn't tell you. I think you can get a new set of Klipsch 2.1's online for $100. I bought mine from BestBuy way back in the day for $100.

yeah mine had a problem where the crontrol speaker cord pluged into the subwoofer, I would have to wiggle the plug like crazy to make it work, it got worse for about a year then just took a dump
