I also posted in the "Interior, Exterior and lighting" forum as that's prolly the correct place for it. Thought maybe someone local has already done this or something..

I closed my '01 RS trunk too hard and the brake light fell off. It is attached with 3 little plastic tabs and screws, and they all three snapped (they must have already been weak or that is just lame). I was thinking to use those little 3M double-stick foam pads and a bead of black silicone to hold it on. The light is fine, and I just don't want to pay $167 for three plastic tabs that could easily break again.

So.. You think silicone and double-stick foam pads will hold my brake light on the spoiler? Any other ideas?

JB weld... Or get that 3M stuff that holds our taillights into place.

Ooooh you mean that black goo of death? That's an awesome idea! I thought of JB weld, but was thinking more like silicone since I believe JB weld gets really brittle in cold.

I will look for that stuff tonite tho - gonna go to Orchard and raid the "adhesives" section.
