You can find aimpoint PROs for $399 online, and they come with their own mount so you dont need to purchase one.
Dont skimp on optics, buy from a reputable company with a good warranty.. and 20k hours of continuous run time is nice too

Get a set of good irons and learn the fundamentals (zeroing, holdovers, etc) before buying optics. Optics are not the first thing you should get for a new carbine. A good sling and white light are what you should be looking at.
A lot of people these days build/buy their first AR and want to accessorize it to death with a bunch of crap. I'll echo what a couple of people in this thread have already told you. Save up for a proven optic. Buy once, cry once.
If you think an Aimpoint is expensive, wait until you start looking at quality low power variable scopes like this one: Leupold Mark 8 CQBSS 1.1-8x24 Riflescope FREE S&H 110121, 112564, 114921, 116669, 116670. Leupold Rifle Scopes.

What are people using for a foregrip? I was originally thinking vertical, but now I am thinking angled may be better. Anyone using an angled?

Fortunately this one is a rimfire so I believe a foregrip is OK. It is just for squirrels and target. That also means the mag release button works without a tool
Confirmed on Calguns, it is allowed.

My AR came with a fore-grip from the factory, it was nice for a while, i found putting my pinky and ring finger on it (like a hand stop) and putting my thumb around the rail was best.. that got annoying so i bought an afg from magpul and im very pleased with it.
