Injector Dynamics 1700cc Failures

Already been through one set with a failure at 1k miles and..... Once again today after about 1k miles... Same issue arose again. Wtf.. Let's see if it was the injector but the car drove perfectly fine then all of a sudden dropped a cylinder.

No clue but I can suspect possibly. It was while I was on throttle and I had to limp it 7 miles home. No smoke though so that's a good thing.

is it possible you got a set from the same batch number? Perhaps they had a bad run of them?

Apparently there's a new version releasing soon.

Damn I got some sets going in my personal car just waiting on my rotated efr kit to come in as well as a few others, so this is news to me. I'm going to give them a call on my time off and see what they have to say. I've heard of only a handful of ID injectors on different platforms failing so this is quite alarming that two have failed on your personal car. Is it the replacement injector on the same cylinder that failed or is it a different injector? Never mind I just read that it's a completely different set. E85?

Not sure which cylinder. Yes e85 on a full aux surge tank fuel system. Very unfortunate but appears to be that they are taking care of the issue at this moment.

A failed injector(s) is risky business and I'm a bit surprised that ID put these 1700cc out in production without more testing. I'm glad your able to catch these early failures so hopefully your motor is not compromised this time around. Keep us updated on the outcome.

Best Regards,

Ron

Of course. Yeah that's what I'm hoping for. I definitely won't hit the track till the newest productions are sent to me.

Did they give you an eta when the new productions are coming out? After two failed injectors I can't blame you, which is freaking nuts, luckily you're smart enough to know the issue at hand. Do you have a fixed wide-band gauge? This is a major issue specially since ID is considered the best out there and if you're having problems with the 1700cc I could only imagine with all these high $$$$$ horsepower builds out there running the same injectors. You saved me a great deal of headache so thanks for the find. But to be fair I've ran the id1000 upwards to the 2000cc and never had any issues prior to the release of the id 1700cc.

GLW issue. Hopefully gets resolved easily.

Id1000s here for ~2 years with zero issues. I've always been leery of odd numbered injectors. DW was especially crappy in that respect.

Yes I have a wide band. And it reads lean which is why I suspect it's a dead injector, make sense?

Gotcha, I was just wondering how you're determining the failed injector during a pull so I wanted to confirm that you had a wide band in place.

Looks to be about a month or so before the new productions come in. ID is top notch and have identified the problem. So if you have these injectors your best bet is to get in contact with them ASAP for possible replacement.
