Heh. Who knows, 5-10 years from now I may buy another truck. Life goals - house, wife, couple kids, and a massive 3.5 car garage + large side yard for a 5th wheel trailer I can haul to track days. Garage will have my car, wife's car, and 4-5 bikes + lift/maintenance area... Lol. Side yard holds the truck + trailer.

Placed an order with the dealership for:

2016 Subaru WRX in Dark Grey Metallic
- manual transmission and Limited trim package
Options:
- Nav System w/ Harman Kardon/Keyless Access & Start
- Sti Short Throw Shifter
- Auto-Dimming Mirror w/Compass & Homelink
- Off Black Center Armrest Extension

TrueCar estimate puts it at $33,591, with a factory invoice of $32,778, and 149 cars sold for between $32,028 - $32,673.

Not sure what my final OTD price will be yet, but I expect it to be a good deal

I got the kartboy short shifter adapter and the throws are definitely shorter than my friends sti short shifter he got from the dealership. the only drawback is the greater effort it takes to put it in gear.

Mid-March is my delivery date (more exact TBD when it gets closer). I ended up cancelling the armrest extension but everything else is still the same. Truck is sold pending funds, should have the check tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. Things are moving forward!

Sweet! Congratulations! Do not forget to post pictures!

Quick side note, TrueCar is not what it used to be. Initially it was an awesome tool, but dealership got threatened by it and forced it to change its model more in their favor.

It is still a very useful tool, but its information should be taken with the same grain of salt as any other auto valuation source. Below is a good articles about the site's history.

T-7....

Wheel shopping, tow hitch shopping (for bike carrier + motorcycle trailer)...

Really liking the look of the Y-spoke wheels (ala VFF103s, HRE P101s, Miro 111s, etc...) and the EcoHitch w/ Thule T2 combo...though I think I'd probably only need the single bike rack.

****! Initially I was told mid March for a delivery date. Around the first week of March I was told there was a bit of a delay and now we were looking at the 25th. Last week I got a call from the dealership saying Thursday the 24th rather than the 25th my WRX would arrive. And now today, I called just to double check delivery date and see how long they'd need to prep the car and whatnot so I could arrange transportation to the dealership and everything, and got told...April 11th?! I wasn't able to talk to the same sales rep I've been dealing with, he's off today and tomorrow. Not happy right now though. Spring break is next week, and I'd been planning on taking a drive down to SLO via Highway 1 to break the new car in, see some friends down there, etc.

^these guys do some nice work on hitches. The can do true hidden ones where the receiver is hidden behind the license plate.

IIRC OEM "STi" STS is a complete shifter linkage assembly swap versus most aftermarket companies' shifter lever only swap which directly accounts for cost and feel differences. Both have their merits. Hopefully you can drive both and figure out which you like best.
Well...after a few months with the WRX...I'm eyeballing the new Durangos now not good.
