Wheelbearings ain't exactly brain surgery. I'm all for going to good shops, but in this case i'd probably go to whoever's closest and reputable. Where are you located?

Perhaps not, but they can be a ***** to do if you don't have the right tools (and a damn good press). Hell my right rear took Mert and JoJo a hour and a half to get out because it was stuck good.

Could be worse. Mine was seized onto the axle. They couldn't even get it off with a torch. Had to replace the axle too.

Mine was almost that bad, mert got it by putting the whole axle/wheel bearing into the press and using a brass drift to force it out under full pressure and a ton of breakfree

From what I've read, seems that LIC is the best. But, just my two cents, they're also very expensive. Quoted me 3.8-4.2k for timing belt/head gasket service - about a grand over everyone else's quote. Maybe they were double-charging for labor costs?

Call Kevin at Auto HQ (650) 368-3290. Very thorough, he really knows Subarus and charges honest prices.
