So i just installed the beatrush front bushing for my 02 wrx and forgot to put back the OEM shifter bushing plate. Can someone explain what the bushing plate is for?

its a big washer plate the hold and sandwich the bushing on your shifter . without it , it will wear the bushing and the nut will dig in the bushing surface .

Thanks for the reply. I think the extra pieces that came with the bushing are to prevent that. I also have Perrin bushings that I'm assuming will need the washer plate.
