Fram's been kinda a joke in the performance industry for years.... tissue paper in a can.

AC Delco, Wix (which builds Napa Gold) and Amsoil seem to consistently be the best

I will ONLY use...

Purolator Pure one
Mobil 1
K&N

In that order, I buy bulk on my filters, pick them up 6 (case) at a time online for cheaper.

My problem with all of the above is the flow rate. They just don't flow enough for high horsepower motors that demand the best. They work great on older big V8's and modern 6's, but get down into a little high revving 4cyl like our subies, or up into a big turbo 6 like the supra motor and its better to be safe and spend another $4-$10 on your filter.

Wow that Fram oil filter looks cheap. I've been using the oem oil filters ever since. Anybody use the oem ones and have any complaints about them? No complaints for me so far.

Depends, white ones or black ones. Subie stopped shipping the JDM black ones into the US, and I hear they were/are about Mobil 1 in quality. The white ones are WIX pretty much.

I use Denso 150-1011 oil filters; formed o ring seal, thicker metal housing, strong and consistent filter media.

Not true at all, take a look at the fram, then look at one of the high end ones. You will note you get what you pay for...more surface space = more air.

Hey, I understand that sometimes you gotta cut corners here or there and try to save a few shekels, but if there is one area I don't cheap out on, it is oil and oil filters.

It's OEM Subaru oil filters for me, topped up with 4 litres of Motul finest (300V).
