Error Code P 2443

Sup all. Had a CEL come on and ordered a reader. Got code 2443 and 2442.

Section Air injector system switching valve stuck closed bank 2.

Did a small amount of research and it seems to be related to an air pump. Looks like over $1000 to fix. Some are saying that it can be ignored.

Ideas?

Thanks.

The best and cheapest solution is to install a set of block-off plates and flash the ECU to disable the codes.

This will disable the functionality of the secondary air injection system, but since it's only used for about 10 seconds on cold start to try to improve cold start emmissions, disabling the system will not hurt anything. The system is also known to be failure prone and as you found out, the replacement components are fairly expensive.

Thanks

How much does a reflash usually cost?

Ed is this price still good to remove the code permanently? I have an accessport for my 07 and need the P2443 code gone to get it smogged.

Going through this right now on my FXT. I will see you soon Ed! Thx. Should i just do the reflash and not bother with the block off plates?

I would highly recommend doing the block off plates. A stuck valve can effect performance as well as cause other damage.

Ok thank you, I will do the block off plates for sure. Can you do that ? Also I have an Accessport with a Stage 1 map on right now, would that affect the reflash you do to remove the codes?
