If not, why do people put towhooks on their cars when thee cars have never seen the light of day on a track or on a regular basis ? WTF ? I bet you 90% of you guys here have never been on a track and yet you still have these track-specific parts.
It looks "cool". Some people dig it, some people are confused by it.

I think it looks pretty good. That said, would I rock it? Probably not. However some some track specific parts (some, not all) can be rather convenient on the street. I can't think of any examples though.

Nothing can go past your rear bumper. Exhaust can not either. Stock exhaust never goes past it.

Man, whenever i see all those damn tow hooks on street cars, especially ****ing Hondas, it makes me laugh & disgusted. Every wannabe racer wants to copy the real drag cars, who need that tow hook for moving around since they only drive down the quarter mile or when they break down. Those drag cars are usually 2 wheel drive, not AWD like us. We need to ALWAYS get towed by flabeds, never by some fabricated tow hook. You'll be destroying diffs & chassis parts for sure. It even says to never tow our cars conventionally, only fully off the ground, in the manual. So for 100 hp Hondas to have them is pointless & just another example of copying that continuously happens in the tuner scene. It's all for looks for Subies too, since they're not feasibly functional, unless you wanna risk using it. I never wouldn't, and it also warns you not to drive on the street with the frront stock tow hook installed anyways. If you like that drag racer look then more power to you, everyone has different car accessory tastes. You should never get stuck anyways, that's what AWD is for baby!

You can still tow AWD via tow hook. Ask long as all four wheels are rotating it's all good. Our cars DO come with tow hooks.

In order to get a car onto a flat bed tow truck, it has to be hooked up to a tow hook and pulled onto the bed.

ooo wow crazy, small world. is this patrick? didn't know you had a subie... i remember back in the day you guys had that jetta that got f-ed up pretty bad lol

and i just think it's funny how many people are hating on the hook, calling me a ricer and what not. you guys are acting as if i put on a huge wing on the back or some ridiculous body kit. it's a f-ing tow hook for goodness sake! part of the reason i opted to get this is because i thought the guy's car who had it previously looked great... no idea it'd start this hate war. i feel like i'm on nasioc

Actually this is Mark, Patrick is mostly in Santa Cruz at the moment. Yeah, I had the Jetta up until the day after new years when I was rear ended while sitting at a red in San Jose and had to total it. Car was a peach, never had to replace random parts and as long as it got a half quart or so between changes it never complained
