contesting a lidar speeding ticket?

I did a quick search for lidar and i read a post that suggested lidar is pratically undebateable in a judges eyes. Is this true? has anyone successfully contested a lidar speeding ticket?

and furthermore, nowadays its not any easier to get out of a radar ticket either using some desperate 'I dont think the gun was calibrated!" defense that didnt really work 20 years ago either. Just know that if you go in front of a judge with a cop there to contest a speeding ticket, whether its with radar or lidar, you better come with a better defense than trying to make a case for the accuracy of whatever piece they used to measure your speed.

i believe it was 565ft.

i'm already a paid member of ticketassassin.com but the info is mostly for radar, not for lidar. and a lot of the arguments focus on beam spread or calibration error. i don't really think those are compelling arguments

stantheradarman charges $460 to prepare a declaration. a bit too pricey for me.

I'm eligible for traffic school, but it would be great if i could find a way to get dismissed without using up traffic school

$460 isn't that much if you consider a life time of insurance premiums. How old are you?

lifetime of ins premiums? you mean 3 years?

If you are traffic school eligible, just man up and take it

You were speeding, you got got, deal with it.

it's not life time... if he goes to traffic shool, it'll be masked... and the point will be removed after 18 months... however, some insurance company do look at far as 7 years... but that is still less than life time.

i'm sure lots of ppl every day get found not responsible for much worse things than speeding.. why can't i try also?

i'm just looking to see if others on this forum have successfully contested a lidar ticket before. i'm not trying to suggest it is somehow 'wrong or unfair' that i got cited.. i'm just looking for alternatives other than instantly giving up and paying up

What are you basing your defense on?
What agency issued the citation?

Subpoena the officer's training record, the unit's calibration, etc before your court date.

I beat a bull**** CHP radar ticket because the officer testified that he inspected/tested/calibrated the radar unit that morning.
Yet when I asked to see proof of this, he could not provide it.

However, I lost another radar ticket I thought for sure I was gonna win.
SOP is to have the unit calibrated at least every two years.
The unit the officer used to issue my ticket was sent out two weeks after my citation & was found to be out of calibration.

I brought this up, and suggested to the judge that every citation issued during this un calibrated state be dismissed.

The officer then mentioned that he was certified at visual speed estimation...which will **** you everytime.

I failed at asking the officer for proof of this certification.
Hence, I lost.

Oh, get a Valentine.
