Bay Area race gas?
#16
are you tuned for it? on a stock car it wont really make a big difference and would be like literally burning money Just because the higher Octane is less likely to knock does not mean the ECU will automatically run higher boost/ more aggressive AFR, as it wont know what fuel is in the car, it will only go to what it normally needs to run, sees no knock and assumes the fuel grade is adequate for the factory parameters and call it a day.

Same here, canyon driving this weekend and purchase about 4 gallons of 100 octane then fill it it up fully with 91..
You basically get 93.5 octane - better knock resistance just as an added safety margin on a 91 octane tune.

I stopped off at the 76 Station in Stockton (Vanco Truck & Auto Plaza - 1033 West Charter Way, Stockton, CA) and found out that they sell 100 octane at the pump. It was $8.69/gallon this past weekend.

This is good to know, i have fam who live in lodi off the 99 so if i drive the GC I can fuel up before heading home and not have to swap maps back to 91.
But it takes twice as much, and if your lead footed and like to drive your car hard you'll be filling up twice if not 3 times as often.
