I had a good time today,

My best was a 54.322.... Man I have to get used to street tires again.. I had little to no grip until my tires were hot.

I got some in car vids going up, so stay tuned...

Had fun but times sucked. Considering it was the first AutoX on the new suspension, I'm not shocked. I've got to learn to drive the car all over again.

Good is that the car corners a LOT better with the coilovers .

Bad is that my corner exit speeds are enough higher (and thus, I'm going that much faster at the end of the straight before the next corner) that I need to learn to hit that pedal to the left of the gas pedal a bit sooner and a bit harder . I lost count of how many corners I came into WAAAAY too hot!

For "street" tires, those Azenis work pretty well! They aren't Kumhos, but they aren't horribly far behind either.

Oh yeah, next AutoX is Feb 9th at Candlestick. I'm co-chairing. I'm sure I'm gonna need the Subie crowd to help pitch in by helping make sure things run smooth (i.e. do your work assignment plus a little extra), so be prepared

Lets hope for rain

I have the same problem, but from a different cause. I have sooo much power that I am missing the braking points.... doh...

A little OT

A little off topic, now the only scary part about the autox was leaving. I was followed by a Porche GT-2 (the grey one) on cold hoosiers... The owner was warming them on the street and spun out behind me on the cold tires, nearly rear-ending me in the process. I happened to look in the rear view mirror to see this grey porche gt-2 sideways coming at me at a high rate of velocity... That new found acceleration was put to the test as I watched the porche slide to a stop right before the curbs that were much higher than the splitter element on the front end.

Damn man that is close. What an idiot that guy is.

BTW I turned a 56.26. I noticed that I am pushing serverly with the lower ride height. Need to upgrade my rear sway.

The GT2 driver is not "an idiot"....I talked with him after the incident (I was working the waiver gate when he came back in).

He was on cold tires, and the car "lit em up" (not hard to do in a 450 HP, RWD, 2800 lb car ) when he got on the gas (not WOT) at that light.

Trust me, it scared the bejeezus out of him . He can afford a nice car, but he still is VERY aware of the value of a buck (or about $200K worth of them )

Have you added negative front camber to the front end, and removed negative camber & toe from the rear?

This is usually the best way to correct suspension geometry when lowering a car.
