I live right down the street from where the majority of them like to hang out in Sunnyvale. There are a number of articles about them. They even have their own FB page. LOL

My wife and good friends thought i was crazy and seeing/hearing things when i told them about all the birds i saw. Then when we all happened to be leaving the Safeway and a large group was sitting on the roof line of the condos they usually hang out at squacking away. Was some sweet vindication/redemption.

I don't think they're truly wild. A pair must have been released and they bred and now they're just here. I've seen them in other cities in the bay too, but Sunnyvale had a pretty good size flock when I lived there.

Well yes they had to start from a pair that got out somewhere. But since they have been breeding in the wild the baby parrots would technically be wild. Crazy still. Im surprised one was alllll the way up in foster city. He looked lost

If you do a little google researching you will find the answers you seek ;-). Scooby your correct. And o4GG there are way more in the SV area than i have ever seen in another area. Hell there were more in SV than we saw in their natural habitat when we were on our honeymoon. HAHAHA.

I'm sure all the ones out there currently are all wild now basically. I lived in SV like 10 years ago over by Fremont HS, and there were already plenty then. I suppose they live longer than that, but in the wild maybe not so much.

I was at Roys a few months ago and someone was out there with a parrot and a white cockatoo and they were just out hanging out on the fence by themselves. Then a week or two later there was a sign up for a missing parrot...
