Is the 2016 Ford RS, and Golf R really the new Evo?

Fun in a car or the way it drives or feels is very subjective.
going fast around a corner and phenomenal acceleration off the line and out of corners is what my idea of fun is, and that usually equates to a FASTER car around the street or track.
Wining is almost definitely always more fun losing.
This is why I can not fathom how people can stand driving around the FRZ POS with a measly 140lb-ft torque and claim because it has "good" handling and easily induces oversteer slides from Prius tires that it is a "fun" car.
It is not fun to be passed up by that Minivan up the 680 livermore hill.
No doubt the Focus RS will be fast. No doubt that what's fun is subjective. But times are objective... Better have some skills to back up the "capabilities" of a car.
I'd be faster in such a car... Doesn't mean I'd like it or have fun. For me having fun comes first. Enjoying it matters most. I hate fighting the car.

I remember in 2008 when the new body style STI came out and I expected a bump up in HP and then the same thing in '11 & '15, no HP increase and the majority of people on this forum knows why. Subaru refuses to build their "Performance" cars with "Performance" parts, I recall talking with a Tech at the local Subaru dealership after my 2014 with 8500 miles had engine failure and I asked him what added HP these motors could handle and he said "None". The way I see it Subaru has failed in keeping up with the other car companies, no one wants to buy a 35-45k dollar car and then pull the motor to install sufficient parts to handle added HP its ridiculous.

All this is great news to me, not for the reason of VW and Ford making great cars that will rival the compact awd turbo class, but in the sense that Subaru will finally now have to step up their game. I’m not at all interested in the Ford or VW, I’m interested in what Subaru will answer with.
