View Full Version : Bride seat Help! 7scooby 04-11-2005, 11:03 PM i am in a wheelchair and can't sit on unpleasant seats. I was wondering if these would create less pressure on my bum better than my stock seats. don't want to buy the wrong thing, i know bride is the best. 7scooby 04-11-2005, 11:22 PM refrase would they be softer than the stock seat? john steele 04-12-2005, 09:16 AM My .02. I have seen adapted vans with custom molded seating for persons with CP, so I know that it is out there. It is relatively easy to have the cover taken off your seat, have padding added or taken out, and then recovered wit the origional fabric. Most auto upholtery shops can do it. There are places that custom mold seats for race cars to meet a specific drivers posture and preferences. Probably people who build NASCAR, IR, FIA, cars etc. know the suppliers for these. Choku Dori 04-12-2005, 07:00 PM If anything, there is a possibility that Brides can be very uncomfortable depending on your build. I'm a big guy and the Brides in general seem a little cramped. Plus you need to find a seat that has lumbar support that's right for you. Also, the ribcage and thigh bolstering should be snug enough but not too tight. My suggestion is that you sit in some seats personally and buy what feels best to you. 7scooby 04-12-2005, 11:34 PM im about a 110 skinny guy Choku Dori 04-13-2005, 12:05 PM Then Bride should be perfect (I assume you're not too tall?). 7scooby 04-14-2005, 11:26 AM i am tall, 5 10 i'm crippled thats why i'm light. Skinny body to begin with paralyzed makes me even skinnier in the legs at least! What did you think of the cusioning, in the but compared to stock i sat in an older ergo yesterday and the cusioning was alright, i think the newer models have more cusioning. I WANT THE BRIX ll Choku Dori 04-14-2005, 05:20 PM The Brix II is very well cushioned and very well bolstered. The cushioning is firm. Considering that you're 5'10", be careful of the location of the lumbar support. I'd venture to say that you'd probably like it, but one can never know unless one gets the chance to sit in one. 7scooby 04-14-2005, 05:45 PM are the side bolsters alot higher than stock? If so about how much? Thanks for the help Choku Dori 04-15-2005, 08:04 PM They're considerably higher, but I can't give an inches measurement off the top of my head :o |
