I'll kick this one off... It's probably been discussed before- but has anyone investigated to see what exactly the source of all of the rattling in the rear is? Is it the hatch trim? 3rd brake light? side trim? cargo cover? My freeway drives would be much more peaceful if I could eliminate or reduce this annoyance.

... my only other ideas for topics here are group buys for waist spoilers and jdm tail lights :D

I have a 97obs that had a rattle. I adjusted the hook which the latch grabs onto and haven't had the rattle since.

I hate all the damn rattling that my exhaust makes when it hits against my differential cover because it is off the hanger.

ok guys. i need some help locating this part. it is the bumper cover that goes directly under the handle. the problem is it is metal, and not the plastic one.
here's the item: "CARGO STEP PANEL", part number E7717FE005.
it was found on a jdm wagon, i'd like it for my 04 wagon. TIA

I think I saw this on another forum, they referred to japanparts.com, I think they said it was a special order part, but then again for the prices they charge all the parts are special parts. So I guess if you can't find it anywhere else go there.

my buddy had this problem with his '03 wagon, took it to the dealership and they said it was the rear passenger seatbelt loop thingy (the top part of the seatbelt that it loop through and then goes down.... if that makes any sense) they said the spring inside was loose and all they did was stretch the spring a tiny bit and the rattle was gone.... hope this helps

I am sure this was asked before but I'm wondering if the Subaru OEM rear underspoiler will fit on the wagon. And also will the OEM front lip for the sedan fit or is it too big just like the rest of the after market lips? This is for a 02'.

They'll work with some time and patience ;). The rear will be easier than the front.

There isn't anywhere that I know of that sells an off the shelf conversion for the fenders. The front is easy - Sedan fenders and bumper bolt right on. For the rear, though, you have to actually have the sedan fenders molded in. That takes extensive body work to get it right, and is not easy at all.

ive seen that on the sedans the 04 taillights will fit into an 03...would the 04 wagon tail lights fit on an 03 wagon?

VRWRX
10-06-2006, 10:59 AM
Yes. Just like the sedan, the 03 bumper doesn't have the cut-outs for the circular part of the 04 lights, but I'm sure you could get them to work. It won't be perfect because there will be a gap, but it should be small and relatively inconspicuous.

j*bishop

you'll only need to install the sti side splitters. the lip needs to be modified a tad and you'll also need to drill into it as well.

Sedan lips will not fit perfectly on the wagon bumpers. That's not to say that you can't get them to fit the wagon bumpers, but they won't fit perfectly. Sedan bumpers are wider because of the fender flares.

Rubber Expansion Nuts - #8-32 x 15/32"

It's like Legos, pull it off and snap/pop back on. I don't get what you could be doing wrong other then not having all the tabs lined up? Pop your fist on the panel directly over each of the 6 nipples (3 top - 3 bottom) and your done. Put in the three black plus on the wrapped part that sit near the threshold (where you would bang your head when open) and your done.

You need to go Swift young man ~ 'wagon specific' springs! Pro-Drive does NOT have wagon specific springs. Yes, your ass will sag like Sharon Stone's running sedan springs on a wagon.

The Swift is a great drop and in my case is a beautiful marriage with the Tokico Spec D's. With a wagon you can adjust all four in about 2 minutes flat!

Here's the drop:

Ahem. I think you should seriously look at Tein H-Tech springs (sedan). They don't sag in the rear, and they're as close to stock-riding as you can get - depending of course on what you're looking for. If you want better performance, then go STi pinks and call it a day. If you're just going for looks and a good ride, then I recommend the Tein's.

This is just my opinion, but there are several nice springs on the market that work well with the wagons. Sorry to muddy the waters if you've already narrowed it down to those two.

It doesn't get more even than this (and why not take the chance to post pics of my wagon?):

I didn't measure before and after. Tein's website says 1.8" in the front and 0.7" in the rear. It probably lowers the rear a tiny bit more on the wagon considering the extra weight.

I have zero problems with clearence. I don't ever hit the bump stops, and I have never scraped anything. I've been through a Colorado winter with them and had zero problems with not having enough clearence in the snow.

It depends on a few things - what size tire do you want to run? How low do you want to go? How much camber are you willing to run? It all depends on how wide a wheel/tire you want, and how aggressive you're willing to get with your setup to accomodate it.

You can easily go with 18x7.5 +48 on 215's and only have to roll a little bit, maybe not at all, depending on how low you are.

Shagon Wagon
11-18-2008, 08:18 AM
18x7.5 is not a problem... im running 18x8.5 with a 39 offset on 235's on my wagon... and i think im one of the lowest wagons around. You will have to roll your fenders when you go to the 18x8 or more range. Alot of wagon guys are running 18x9 +38 rota g-forces, just be ready to run -1.7-2.0 in the camber range. Bran808 has just pulled off 18x10 +35 rotas with 255's on his wagon but his rears are crazy pulled and rolled. Looks BEYOND bad ass... just all depends on how crazy you wanna go ... and if you want to roll your fenders and get camber done. Ive gone from 17x7.5 +48 to 18x7.5 +48 then 18x8.5 +39 and ill be selling my 18x8.5's in a few weeks to step up to something bigger. Its all basically on how crazy you wanna go !

Was there a reason you bought the sedan version instead of the wagon version for your wagon?

^^^I don't think they make the H-Techs specifically for the wagon. That and I saw them on a couple other wagons and they looked perfect, and came with good recommendations.

CO's FTW, get springs if you want a floppy ride and potentally blown struts after about 8 months, CO's are the way to go for sure, its worth the saving time... it was for me :D

is the rear lip off the sedan, reading this thread has gotten me curious now. As for wagon specific, anyone found a rear lip that is not from japan tuning? 400+ is just a bit more than i want to spend on it, but i really, really need to get rid of that Toyota Echo rear end look, it just doesnt look complete.

question guys! comming in the new year i am going with coilovers & want to change up my rims. i am currently of progress springs & sitting on STi goldies but want to swap for 18's. will i have to roll the fenders on my wagon just to fit 18's? & what offset could i get away with if i do roll my fenders? if i dont have to roll my fenders could i go 18x7.5 & be safe? any insight would be GREATLY appreciated.

The bottom shot of my wagon shows 18x7.5 rims 48mm ~ no issues without a roll, but I run 215's not 225's.

The rattle noise came from the rear on my 04 WRX wagon, was my perrin rear swaybar. I opt for the cusco 22mm rear adjustable sway bar with whiteline bushings, mounts and endlinks.

On the spring string - I installed KW coilovers on my 07 wagon with very good results. Even drop, good ride and adjustable.
Need some help - I removed the roof rail and have a part number for the 02 roof molding. Will it work on an 07?

/\ 02-07 should all be the same in regards to the roof rail parts.

here is my grocery getter ....not done yet
i just ordered my japan roof moldings...they were $95 for the pair at the dealer here in hawaii....here is the part number in case anyone wants it(91046fe011, 91041fe001)..not sure which is the left and right tho

also i just ordered my 2004 rear bumper and tail lights off ebay for my rear end conversion

alot of people have been asking about my waist spoiler..........Its only $220 shipped and it shows up in like a week.....the carbon work is very very good and it weights next to nothing....i am very very happy with it .i saw it on ebay and figured for the price it would be cheezy cf and i would end up having to paint over it...but it only was $20 more then the none painted fiberglass one so i just got it. and it turned out to be very nice...now im just gonna run it straight cf until it fades...then paint it:)....... here is a linkhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBARU-02-07-IMPREZA-WAGON-2-5i-WRX-STi-CARBON-SPOILER_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4149555c48QQite mZ280403205192QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5f Accessories#ht_5855wt_941"]http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBARU-02-07-IMPREZA-WAGON-2-5i-WRX-STi-CARBON-SPOILER_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4149555c48QQite mZ280403205192QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5f Accessories#ht_5855wt_941
