Remember my reference to how the horizon in Iraq isn't infinitely flat? Got this email from a good friend of mine that's been attached to Blackwater in Baghdad and in more hostile, surrounding cities.

dude all is well w/me and rest of the boys over
here..by the way ******** said u can't smoke ****
from where u r at. that dude is a team ldr now.
anyway we r getting ready to get the hell
out of here in the next two wks or so. we aint doing
**** over here at all..but pulling guard and patrols.
it's a ****in joke that we even came here because they got
all sorts of ****in dudes over here from fiji, and nepal
that could ****in do the job that were doing. there's even
a ton more Iraqi guard soldiers than when I was here in
03-04. anyway man I hope all is well w/u there and your enjoying
the married life. I’m on my way to germany at the end of
july...I might try and get into that lrsd unit in
germany or get my ass to italy/vicenza. okay dude
it's time to get on my way because I got a lot of
movies to watch and a bunch of pvts to smoke. I’m
getting married at the end of April so you know your
going to get an invite. it will be down in LA, so if
you can get away for it that would be cool of you to be
there. I’ll let you know more when I get hard dates.

latex,
d

This isn't coming from someone in the green zone or behind a computer either...

I love soldiers.

By "love", do you mean in a http://www.srtforums.com/forums/images/smilies/usa.gif way or "love" in a http://www.srtforums.com/forums/images/smilies/bananahump-slvrathlon.gif way?

Let's put it this way. Every soldier I've ever served with, I have different but just as strong feelings as I do for my folks and my wife.

I know, for instance, that my ma doesn't know how to lay down covering fire. I am not certain if my father could pull the trigger. I'm fairly certain that my wife want to get any enemy blood on her clothing while she's knifing a guy who's trying to put a bayonet in me.

:rotfl: Then you have failed to train her correctly. http://www.srtforums.com/forums/images/smilies/rocket.gif

She is a little hard-headed. You can't smoke a rock....or can you?
