This weeks suicide bombing showed weakness on the insurgents part and everyone there knows it. Sure, the Iraqi people are upset but it just instills the rage in the majority towards these cowards. People tend to want what they can't have or do what they aren't suppose to do. These insurgents are like highly restrictive parents that try and ground their children for a month only to have them rebel and sneak-out that evening to smoke pot. The only problem is that these "parent figures" have little to no pull. If the Iraqi people want Democracy and freedom bad enough they’ll get it eventually. Nobody said it would be easy.

What do all the people who've been claiming that Iraqis support the anti-US insurgency have to say now?

And it continues.

The insurgents keep hitting public targets because they don't have the means to successfully penetrate hard, government targets.

You oppress the people and you get protests. Thing is, they're oppressing the majority who isn't stupid enough to jeopardized that majority by civil war. Not only that but Allawi and other major figureheads are dishing out nice ultimatums for any actions from the Shiites on civil war.

When Muslims fight other Muslims over the greater good it looks really bad for the insurgency. If they do not succeed they will loose what's left of their respect in the Muslim world.

I saw a clip from the protests in lebanon with a man holding a banner that said: "Thank you George Bush"...
I wonder if that was sarcasam?

Most likely was hezbollah or it's followers. So yes, it was sarcasm.

Doesn't matter though... hezbollah has to make a double edged decision based on whether to support democracy or turn against the majority of Muslims that want it. Doing either would make them look like *****es to the rest of the Islamic world for turning on other Muslims or to Iran. Either way they are screwed.
