Really? It must vary from base to base. I haven't had any problems here at VAFB with my Invidia.
Anyway, just remember that our cars aren't the loud high pitched 4 bangers that you can hear two blocks away. I'm running sans cats and it's not obnoxious at all. She's a bit loud, but very mellow. I'm running a Helix DP with an Invidia Ti Tip cat-back.

Borla Hush is the way to go. Nice and quiet, gives performance, and the best part is that it looks stock.
P.S. Where is Alasaka? Not trying to be a smart a$$ just curious if there is a place called Alasaka.

Stromung is a nice sounding exhaust, without being overly loud, as well as the Borla Hush catback. The Prodrive axleback is pretty quiet, but still sounds damn good. You have a few options, depending on what the 'loud threshold' is. Hope that helps.

I've heard that the GReddy EVO(2) and the Borla Hush are the best "stealth" catbacks that still provide HP increase. Between the two of them, however, I have no idea which one provides more HP. If you find something, post it up.
The only negative about the EVO is that it looks like your typical fart can, whereas the Hush really looks like the stock muffler.

Ive been running the Greddy EVO2 catback for the past week, and I am SO impressed with its noise level. It just sounds a bit louder over what the stock STi exhaust system makes. (ps - other mods include Gruppe-S header, Helix catless downpipe, Perrin Intake, ECUtek... etc...). Even with these other mods, my car is still quiet.
Definitely the way to go in my opinion. Good luck.

pardon me if i'm missing something here. on an airforce base where there are jets roaring on a daily basis... they are strict about a vehicles exaust? kinda ironic. i would suggest either the b&b exaust or the borla hush. the exaust that i have now is the tanabe super hyper medallion. pretty quiet at idle and low rpms. and very nice at wot
