I've seen magazine with 18 and 19 inch rims, some on the older WRXs and I was wondering if anyone has had problems with the bigger sizes, such as 18 and 19? If you have these on an STi what size rims and tires do you have? I want to buy 19s but I'm worried about spending 2 grand on rims and tires and have them rub.

I think the largest I've ever heard on an STi that was fully functional was 18x8.5, if memory serves me right. I'd avoid 19's because they'd pretty much be worse than the stock 17's in terms of performance and IMHO looks.

I have 17" and 18" rims on my bugeye sedan. To be honest, the 18's already look a little large; 19's would look ridiculous on our cars.

I say 18" and no larger.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I will go with 18s. Although I've seen 19 and 20 in some magazines, but I guess they are "showcars." I've been thinking about Enkei RP03s or ROTA Tarmac II's to save money. Boy, clearing those Brembos is tougher than I thought. NASIOC has a good link for sizes.

A guy I now around where I live has 19's on his 04 STI and they rub like a mother. Eventually I am going to go with 18's which is proly the most you will want to go without rubbing.
