Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Talking My 2001 Subaru Impreza RS 2.5

Hi all, new here. Just bought my 1st car, Subaru 2001 Impreza RS 2.5
This car is great. So clean, nice smooth ride, I LOVE IT!!

Well here are some pictures of it.

Well I was thinking in adding a few things, read a lot, i mean A LOT, here in terms of changing things, what to change and all. I might stick with the stock CAI, but cahnge the air filter to a K&N. In terms of exhaust, for now leave the stock performance one....but in the future go with the Cobb tunning...from headers to the catback. If anyone has a sugestion please feel free to pin-point me in the right direction.

Also thinking about changing brakes, and suspension and also adding strut tower braces.

Well, hope to keep learnign more here. Love this car, best thing that happened to me, after having major headackes with a Toyota 1987 Camry....(dont go there )

Good luck,
SebaS

Thanx guys...well after all I wont do much to the car. It already has most of the stuff instaleld....front strut, rear sway..exhaust.
Just installed a K&N filter and that was it.
I took a trip to VT this weekend to go snowboarding....and it is a great car to drive long trips too.
I LOVE THIS CAR!!

Question, does anyone have some play with the stick shift? I have a short shifter installed.
Thanx,

Thats because of the stock shifter bushings. Put the Kartboy ones in there and it will feel nice and tight.

I have lots of play in my shifter. I have a KB shifter, bushings, and an STi linkage. My tranny is just kind of a POS so YMMV. Looks like you already have an exhaust on your car to me.

Hi all, well, here is what it has now. Exhaust sysem, except headers.
Front strut bar and rear sway bar. Sport shocks and lowered springs. K&N Filter, and planning in buying some new spark plug cables.
The car runs great, except that now its at subaru having the ball bearings on the diffs changed. Fortunately its free, still with warranty.
Good luck,
