Yea, double post. The more I thought about it, the more I realized this shoulda been here in the Sac area meeting/event stuffs. Whatever.

It's a drift event put on by NorCal Drift Academy. Takes place up at Tunderhill. Not a competition or a show. It's all day track time. I'll be at the drift side with mah' 240sx. There's instructors for all us n00bs on both sides of the track. Gonna be fun stuff. Email me at Sauranas31@yahoo.com or hit up www.NCDA.net for more info.

Its a fun event guys. I didn't drive last year, but I went as a spectator (and got some fun rides).

If I had a car worth tracking, I'd probably be driving too.

I was hoping the drift project would be done by this, but it probably isnt, I may bring the wrx up and tease the m3's some more.

Do you have to pay to watch?

Ex-ricer
12-27-2004, 10:04 PM
Yea, I think it's $10. Just to be clear, NCDA doesn't make money on this. All the proceeds go to paying for the track rental, emergency type peoples, and instructor type stuffs. **** the $10. Come drift.

soggynoodles
12-28-2004, 01:11 AM
Oh cool. I don't mind paying but I was wondering if you need to pay in advanced to watch.

Ex-ricer
12-28-2004, 08:21 AM
IIRC, the only thing you need to pre-register for is the track time.

Just learned that prodrifters Calvin Wan (www.calvinwan.com) and Hubert Young (www.willraceforfood.com) are going to be showing up. To drift, to teach, to have fun. Good times.

Dunno if ya'll need it being so much closer then everyone else, but Days Inn offers a special price for NCDA drift events. $45 for single occupancy. 530-934-4444 is the number if you need it.

Saw Nate signed up. Look for the light blue PoS 240 with mah black meshies man! I'll be on the n00b side of the drift event!

I plan to come out and watch/take pictures of the event.

I can not guarantee how well they will come out. But since the new toy (lens) just got here, at least I will look like I know what I am doing:

The fog sucked really bad so the pix did not turn out as good as I would have wanted them to but here are some of the better ones:

Video will follow later, I am going to try to get it converted this evening. I will post it after getting approval from the driver of the video car...

What happened to the legacy:( everybody okay.

Everybody's OK. Trying to link/extend a drift, and couldn't quite get it swung back before touching mud, which facilitated a meeting with a few K-walls. The diff on the car was pretty loose, so Nate was having to feint and clutch-kick it to get it out, and it worked better at higher speeds.......which raises the stakes a bit.

Them's the breaks, I 'spose. Scott's a little sore and Nate will be too, I'm sure, but nothing hurt besides the car, which is all that matters. We can rebuild it, we have the technology. :D

All told, the car worked great, and the theory is definitely sound, as the car had great balance, we just need to iron out some kinks.

No, the shell is toast. But, the engine and gearbox are fine, so is the suspension seemingly, so it''ll all get swapped into a new shell.
