NY/NJ FS: 1996 Impreza L Race Car
1996 Subaru Impreza L
2.2L H4 Boxer Engine ~150hp
4EAT Automatic Transmission
All-Wheel-Drive
This car has been modified for road racing. It has a current 2004 NASA Logbook and has passed tech. This car would make an excellent Road Race Car for an entry level driver or a Rally Car for someone looking to get into that sport inexpensively.
Modifications:
Borla Headers
2.5" Catless Straightback Exhaust
TPM Custom 2.5" Muffler
Full Custom Race Cage (Legal for NASA, SCCA and EMRA)
Kirkey "Big Bubba" Driver's Seat w/5-point harness
Kirkey Passenger Seat w/5point harness
Relocated Battery to Trunk
28,000lb GVWR ATF Cooler
Redline High Temp ATF
Removed AC Compressor and Condenser
Removed front Bumper Beam
Whiteline front Sway Bar and Endlinks
Whiteline rear Sway Bar and Endlinks and Mounts
STi Steering Wheel
Fire Extinguisher
Padding for Cage
Extra Parts:
PS Pump
PS Rack
Steering Column
The Good:
This car has been a trusty track car for me. I purchased it at about 147K miles on it and put almost 5-6k of track miles on it. The engine runs stronger than any other 2.2L motors I've ever driven. Team IAC has used it as a training car for a lot of our new members and at times we've had it out at Watkins Glen running for 3-4hrs straight w/o a break. She just kept running like a top, no issues, never burns a drop of oil despite being at near WOT for the whole track events. It completed 2 races at the NASA Pocono Event in August. Starting 15th in the 1hr enduro of a field of 18, and finished 12th overall.
The Bad:
She needs a good paint job, as the paint is just primer. The steering column needs to be replaced as well as the PS pump and rack as the rack leaks. Those parts are all included.
Optional Equipment You can purchase with this vehicle:
GAB Coilover Adjustable Struts $500
Subaru 4-Pot Calipers $500
WRX 16" Rims w/Tires $250
