We'll see your gay marriage policy and raise you...

I think it’s ridiculous simply because you have two different issues here. The military's policy toward gays should have nothing to do with the federal government giving money to universities and colleges based on their allowance of recruiters.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/11/29/mi...ers/index.html

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A federal appeals court barred the government Monday from blocking funds to colleges and universities that deny access to military recruiters because of the Pentagon's policy banning openly gay men and women.
It's really just an attempt from Universities to grasp strings because same sex couples can't get a piece of paper declaring their love for each other. Meanwhile, numerous ROTC programs are at risk of going belly-up and students may be denied housing and education due to lack of funds. The only thing keeping the anti-military movement on campuses from becoming as militant as they were in the 60's is the fact that there isn't a draft.

I find it ironic that two wrongs do make a right as far as these Universities are concerned. Yet try and limit their way of life and thinking and they suddenly become the voice of educated reason and understanding.

So the ROTC programs are being denied money because they won't allow openly gay people in their programs?

You don't see anything wrong with them being denied entry?

Don't they have every right to serve thier country even if thier gay?

I think that if the ROTC programs want to practice segregation then they should be denied funding.

-I do see something wrong with it.

-Yes

-Why should two wrongs make a right in this situation? The answer to this problem is not going to be solved with more problems. Which is why I said:

I see it as a punishment for segregating people in this manner.

It's just like two wrongs make a right in the criminal justice system. You do something wrong and you will get punished.

It's very easy to correct this problem so they can get thier money back they just don't want to do it.
