Stock Bridgestone Potenzas...Next week, hopefully I'll have the xpass wired in and use the 93 octane Stage1 MAP! They say it'll add 21WHP/24lb-ft torque on a stock WRX....w/ an open xpass.

Good job. Did you create the map for the XEDE yourself?

This was a base map 93 octane sub-zero, will modify maps as soon as my air/fuel ratio meter/boost gauge are installed. Its basically a generic vishnu map, probably not from a custom tune!

Hmmmmm.....since keirnna says he'll be posting 11 second slips this friday, I might as well skip a step and switch over to a 97 octane stage 1 map, along with my exhaust xpass! should add a total of 41+WHP to the current setup I had this past friday! Hopefully I wont lose too bad against him with his monster setup! Worst case scenario - probably run 93 octane map stage 1 map w/ an open xpass....

I will not be running on friday for sure, and possibly test run on Saturday. I am not expecting to be fully operational for at least week. It will take a while to get everything tested and tunned properly. I should be running for sure in 2 weeks, but we'll see.

Racingas,

Just come home (just 2 more months, right?!!! I was the commander of Aco, 2-5IN up until a few months ago.) I'm sure these guys will make your time at the track very fun. Do you know 4080WRX?

All of you i-clubbers back on the island ought to start now in order to set up some events at the track for these returning heroes from the 25th ID.

Wonder whats the better deal....$58 for 117 leaded (5gallon), or $54 for 114 leaded (5 gallon) hmmmm. Im thinkin it might be better to get the 117 octane and mix it with some xylene and 92 unleaded with some lucas fuel treatment... I would mix 1/2 gallon 117, with 1/2 gallon xylene, and 2 gallons 92 octane to get 101 octane...semi-leaded gasoline...shouldnt hurt the O2 sensors that much...I hope!

Hey, you'd probably never notice anything, but my only note about your comment is that you need to be aware that there are actually TWO factors with each type of fuel; not only is the octane important, but the flame temp.

Race gas is always your best option because not only is it high octane (higher resistance to ignition, but once ignited, it burns hotter than anything else.) If you mix it with anything, you're really defeating it's true purpose. Hotter combustion=more power.

If you're only looking for resistance to detonation, pump and xylene are just fine and much cheaper. I never put any lubrication when I put it into my tank. Just for reference, I put xylene in about 80% of my fillups from the time I had EM until just before I went overseas...probably every tank for a year and a half. I didn't notice any damage to the rubber in my fuel tank (the fuel pump gasket and fuel pump/filter assy.), nor along the hoses to my fpr, nor in the hoses from fpr to injectors, nor the injectors themselves.
