vehicle condition
Vehicle History and Title:
Title is clean. I have the CarFax from when I purchased her from the previous owner, a nice gentleman who worked at a Piano store in Walnut Creek. There have been no accidents, collisions, or random acts of destruction under my care. Feel free to double check if you want.
Engine and Driveline:
Chassis has ~105k miles on it. I purchased it from the previous owner at ~93k miles. The engine has ~30k miles on it, good compression, turbos are healthy. Refer to above dyno sheet for performance information.
Wheels and Suspension:
There's were some curb rash on some of the wheels when I purchased her so the wheels aren't perfect unfortunately. The tires are worn on the inside (negative camber) and do need to be replaced so I factored that into my asking price.
Exterior:
This is an 11 year old car so expect the random minor ding, scratch, and paint chip. The car was repainted with the original color (CYM) by the previous owner. This is probably due to the infamous fading of the original paint that Mazda experienced at that time.
Interior:
Again, this is an 11 year old car. The interior is in good condition and there is some very minor peeling on some of the plastic panels, again, another common problem for Mazda at the time. There are no rips, tears, or excessive wear on any of the original fabric or seats.
Maintenance and Upkeeping:
She's had regular oil changes (every ~2.5k miles) and most major maintenance performed on schedule at Rick's Rotary in Pleasanton, whom was recommended to me and I highly recommend myself. I have not had any major problems with the car aside from replacing some aged brittle rubber piping, tightening some fasteners, and an oil pressure sensor. I've asked Rick at Rick's Rotary if there were any mechanical issues that I needed to be aware of, fix, replace, or modify and he said my car was fine and healthy.
She always been properly detailed and kept in a garage when not used as my weekend car (My Subaru WRX is my daily driver). I personally detail the car and my regimen, to keep it simple, includes rinse, soap, rinse, dry, clay bar, polish, wax, and tire dressing. I also wash the wheels meticulously but as you can imagine, they get dirty rather quickly.
included with the car
- A pair of JDM sidemarkers, never installed.
- One replacement glove box in better condition than one on car.
- One replacement ashtray in better condition than one in car.
- Original taillights (3 pieces). Previous owner decided he'd paint over them with CYM paint leaving 3 circles (a la 99 spec style) on each side. I personally thought it looked stupid so I immediately purchased stock tails to replace them. I guess you can use them as emergency replacement should the taillights on the car ever spontaneously combust.
- Three OEM Mazda oil filters with matching crush rings (do your own oil changes!)
last comments and asking price
I purchased this car approximately two years ago for $18,500. Only 350 CYM R1 RX-7s were brought to the United States and many no longer survive. Ideally, I'd like for her to go to an owner who has the patience and appreciation for such a beautiful and rare classic. Given the condition I've kept her, her rarity, but also accounting for depreciation, my asking price is $17,000 OBO.
