We have seen some that took almost all day just to drill and tap 3 broken bolts. Usually we can do it within 3 hrs. and that includes the prep work needed etc. R & R out with the old and in with the new. hope that helps Gino samowrx 10-12-2004, 10:51 AM there is nothing wrong with my current oil pan. i just want to put in the STI oil pan so that i can use my twin scroll headers. when do you have an opening to help me with the install? Imprezer 10-12-2004, 03:00 PM Oh god! I have done this too many times on my car thinking that my pan was not sealed. Only after doing it 4 times in one I found out it wasn't the pan. DOH!!! That's a tough job. The back bolts are pain in the ass. Gino, here is a tip. You can rim out a hole in a crossmember that is almost under those bolts to be able to see better, use flashlight and stick a socket with mini-flex at the end. ;) That's my russian tip of the day. ;) gbmotorsports 10-12-2004, 11:11 PM Oh god! We have an openning this week and best to do it coz we book fast. :) gino Imprezer 10-12-2004, 11:21 PM You don't need to drill it. There is a hole there already. It might be for Subaru special oil pan changing tool or something. It just needs to be about 2mm larger in diameter. ;) gbmotorsports 10-14-2004, 11:56 AM You don't need to drill it.
