Question possible deal on an 05 wrx

Is this deal possible for an 05 5-speed wrx w/ premium package in march 2005?

Item Invoice MSRP
05 wrx w/ premium $24,475 $26,395
destination $575 $575
auto-dim mirror $119 $183
security sys. upgrage $151 $232
REBATE $1250 $1250

TOTAL $25,320 $27,385

TOTAL-REBATE $24,070 $26135

The final price I want on this is to be $23000 +ttl=$24600.
This past March I was quoted $23000 for an 04 wrx w/ same options and rebate, but the otd was $24900. Do you guys think I can get the 05 wrx in March 05 for the same price except negotiate the otd to $24.5? The rep was going to give it to me for $24.750 otd if I was to buy that day. I think its possible for $24.5 otd, what do you think?

Sorry for the long post.

i was going to say $26135 is definitly possible without negotiation. It really depends on the salesperson. it depends on how much the person wants to make out of you. I say just talk directly to the manager instead having a guy running between you two.

This is from my personal experience.

Tell them this when you walk in. "I have 30 minutes to finish this transaction or I'll walk. And this is the deal I want, FIRM! It's now xx:xx" Assuming you have good credit, don't EVER let them run your credit until the deal is set. Their attitude change once they know how much you make and if you could really afford a higher deal or not. Once they know you could, they are less likely to go down on price.

I guess you are looking for best deal in a car. I say go to a BIG dealership. EVEN if they are known to be an *******. Reason being, they have A LOT more room to flex than a smaller, nicer dealership.

To me there are two ways of negotiating...
1) Be poor, say this is all you can afford in a month and this is all you CAN pay.
2) Be an *** to them, and keep telling them. "That's okay if you can't do the deal, thanks for you time, good bye." They will always try to stop you from leaving if they know you are serious in buying a car and wants to make a deal with you.

Also, monitor their inventory online. It's not that accurate, but it's not bad. If you see the car has been in the lot for over a month or so, or just a long time. You can point that out too. Tell them you are helping them out by buying this car. The dealership has to pay the bank every month for the cars that are in the lot. So the longer the car sits in the lot, the more money they loose. End of the month is definitly a better time to deal. They want to get rid of the cars!

That's all I can think of right now...

Good luck!

that is all some good info. the dealership that was going to settle for the 04 wrx said that they would gladly get me the car within the 5 midwest states. i was fine with it, but i never considered looking at inventory and observing the cars that sit. thanks for that info. Im still a student w/ a part time job, but i have my finances figured out with how much to put down and what I can afford. And NO, mommy and daddy are not chipping in a penny. they pay for college. thanks again. any other great info
