Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, citing the war in Iraq and other trouble spots in the world, raised the possibility Wednesday that a military draft could be reinstated if voters re-elect President Bush

Kerry said he would not bring back the draft and questioned how fairly it was administered in the past.

Answering a question about the draft that had been posed at a forum with voters, Kerry said: "If George Bush were to be reelected, given the way he has gone about this war and given his avoidance of responsibility in North Korea and Iran and other places, is it possible? I can't tell you."

I don't think it will ever have a chance of happening.

What do you think?

Better yet, what will you do in the unlikely event Bush implements a draft after being reelected?

I'm too old, but if I wasn't, I may have to "come out of the closet". LOL

Unfortunatly, though improbable, I think that Bush being re-elected provides the greatest chance for a draft since it was done away with. If a draft is re-instated, what I do really depends on the current situation of the time. I no longer feel we should be in Iraq at all, so if a situation like the one we are in is continuing, and Bush still insists on going to war with another country for any other reason than we are being invaded by them (which, with how thin we are already spread, will likely warrent a draft) , I will be a "concientious objector" and refuse to serve. Some wars are justified, others are not, and I refuse to partake in a war started by some war monger of a pres. hell bent on some personal crusade.

Im going to spain! Seven to one female to male ratio...and all the wine I can drink. Maybe I'll pick up painting. :p (Just for you Salty ;) )

Honestly, I do think if another war front starts we will proably have the draft re-instated. Im 24 right now so I believe I could possibly go. But more than anything I would be worried about my little brother, who is 17. My mother works for a general, she left the force 5 years or so ago and now works as a advisor, and she said my little brother would be shipped out to Europe faster than you can wink if a hint of a draft happening comes to be.
