I JUST BOUGHT A 96 IMPREZA AWD WITH THE EJ18 MOTOR...HEY IT WAS ONLY $500.00..I ALSO HAVE A TURBO OFF A 760 VOLVO THAT I WITH PLUMB UP TO THE LITTLE 1.8L.(JUST TO TIDE ME OVER UNTILL I CAN GET A 2.5 TURBO OR A EJ20 TURBO...BUT UNTILL THEN I AM GOING TO PLAY WITH THE EJ18..I NEED A LITTLE HELP WITH A FEW THINGS..PLANS ARE MRT FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER..CUSTOM UP AND DOWN PIPES......NOW WHAT I NEED IS HELP WITH ECU:DO I "NEED" TO CHANGE ANYTHING OR CAN I FLOAT WITH A STOCK ECU FOR A WHILE..:WHAT STOCK INJECTORS(FROM ANY VEHICLE) CAN I UPGRADE TO..:AND NAY OTHER MODS THAT I CAN PERFORM FAIRLY EASLY.

You could also look at using a older turbo Legacy 2.2L motor in your car. I've got no experience with the 1.8L motor so I've got no real advice for you other then make sure you've got good air/fuel management like with any turbo application.

There are a few good choices out there. You can check with Boy from the rs25.com site about using E-Manage. You can get with Skywalker from this site about using the Link2. You could also try picking the brains of the guys at Vishnu for info on the TEC3. A Haltek is also a good choice but I haven't met anybody in the Subaru world who is using one. Only seen the RX7 guys using them with great results.
