Its more a noise maker than a power gainer. Intakes on this car are nearly useless and cause erractic MAF readings. Your better off looking into stage systems or engine management systems to really improve the power with parts you put on. Example (accessport system) Stage 1 - just a reflash and adds like 10-20 hp i believe? Stage 2 - Requires a downpipe but more exhaust is good too - adds an addition 20-30 hp ontop of stage 1 Hold off on the intake. With a downpipe and stage 2 reflash your turbo will be pretty noisey. So test it out without the intake and if you want more noise take it off. fusionsr 08-02-2004, 03:24 PM Exhaust noise is better than intake noise. Get a catless exhaust and do your car a favor with good EM. Intakes suck (pun intended). RoadSpike 08-02-2004, 03:26 PM Exhaust noise is better than intake noise. Choku Dori 08-02-2004, 11:09 PM Read the "Sticky" post on CAI's, then we'll talk ;) Ah WTH, I'll summarize, CAI's are useless on turbocharged vehicles like the WRX. awns729 08-03-2004, 12:16 AM ^I was going to say the same thing. Turbocharged vehicles w/ MAF sensors, that is. :) wrx10404 08-03-2004, 02:40 AM My friend just got a 2002 WRX, with Borla Exhaust, and Forge Blow-off...We are looking at getting the Injen Racing Systems CAI, Any thoughts? thanks. If your gonna go with the injen then get the accessport. Cobb has a map for the Injen intake, jsut make sure your friend has a downpipe. You said he has a borla exhaust but that is probably just a cat back. Intakes are usually useless unless you have a FMIC or big turbo and big power(350 +). They soung pretty cool though. Save the cash on the intake and just buy the accessport and you can get the intake later if you want it. MikieTaps 08-03-2004, 04:49 PM where can you find those accessport stage kits? and how much do they run? fusionsr 08-03-2004, 05:04 PM http://www.cobbtuning.com They run about $1700 for the exhaust and ECU upgrade, i believe. |
