Dude you did a FFN not an ITN. ITN is like 100x more fun than an FFN. :):)

come out to this next one. I need you to be the other half of my two for one. That way we can both get in for 1/2 off.

I'm down for this Into the Nite Rally.... all I need is a navigator...
If someone wants to run it, let me know.. We'll split the entry and fuel...

I was close to racing my 92 #24 Spec Miata sponsored by Dave Frost automotive, in Mexico's La Carerra de Ensenda road-race... it's an 80 mile run (4 times through the old road).. http://www.silverstateclassic.com/internationalseries.htm

I ended up selling the car and buying the WRX...

Still want to run it in a spec miata one day...

PM me if you would like to enter this event as my Nav. in Novice class..

yeah, I'm kinda crazy with the promotion of this thing. I just love it soooo much that I want everyone to know about it, everyone to at least try it and everyone to enjoy it as much as I do.

Thanks for placing the flyer on your site, appreciate the exposure. I'll let you and Brian take care of the SCLC site, since they won't let me post there, but if there are any questions you know where to forward them :)

For anyone even remotely thinking about doing this, its the most fun you can have with your car on a public street and not automatically get arrested ;) The time commitment may seem like a lot, but after its done you too will be wondering when the next one will be :D

The thing I remember most was, being almost done with the rally, and realizing it felt like it had only started

Thats why this 7 hour one will be good. Itll feel like halfway through the rally when its over.

Yeah Sigma Pi, you and your navigator should show up for this! I'll be there to help you get started. So you got no worries ;)

yeah at the end of the 5 hour SCLC rally, I thought I was just getting warmed up and finding my groove. :D and then it was over :(

First off thanks for making this the biggest event of the year. At 37 cars it beats the 22 that came to Bugeritaville which was our year to date largest event of the year. It even beat last year's "training wheels" event that had 34 cars and that event was FREE! :)

I'd like to apologize for my end of event grumpiness. Had a long day of driving on rather uninteresting roads because I had to stay off the good stuff so the competitors wouldn't see us, combined with the huge allergy attack we were both suffering from after having sat next to some farm field in the middle of the night and having all the cars kick up the dust and dirt into the car. Not to mention all the cars that decided to blind us by creeping with the highbeams and driving lights on. I'd also like to apologize for the time it took for scoring. We were doing pretty good scoring the regulars and experts. But damnit, nearly all the Novices turned in empty time cards, that took forever to sort out.

I hope all of you had fun. During pre-check, the roads were great, traffic near the indian casinos was a pain, but there wasn't anything we could do about it. Its one of the reasons that I loved "Midnight Run" so much. We owned the roads between midnight and 7a Otherwise it was a picturesqe drive with just the right amount of driving challenge.

This is most likely my last ITN event of the year. The only other scheduled event is the 16 hour rally and I don't plan on attending it. My wife doesn't drive stick, and with my new job I am not sure I will have the opportunity to take the time off required to attend this event. I hope that you had such a great time that we will see you next time, dragging more friends along... well enough of a good time to come back again :) I love these events, not only because of the driving challenge, but for the mental exercise of figuring out the routes and clues :) ITN should have another event scheduled at the beginning of the year, they usually start out with a "training wheels" event to get the beginners a chance to wet their feet with a nice easy 4 hour event. I hope to see some of you there... I might even be making a competitive return.

again, thanks to all of for coming.

ps: for those of you with pictures or video, send them my way, I'll host them for eveyone else to see.

Man sounds like it was a great event....

....Im sitting here in the CSULB library and after I read your post Roo I said "daaammmnn" in such a depressing voice that the person next to me asked if I was ok.

I need to find someone who would dedicate a weekend to do the next one with me. When is that night one you mentioned? That one would be awesome.

Yeah I was looking for you and there rest of the SCLC troop. We had a ton of cars and it was loads of fun.

Rally Pics (http://www.pbase.com/mzc/old_roads_2004./)

The all night event only happens once a year. And the last one was just a couple of months ago. I want to do more like "the midnight run" but it isn't up to me. Keep an eye on this space and I will be sure to update everyone.

It even went off-road?

Damn...

Well, with everyones connections through these rallys, wouldnt it be possible to try to just get one together spur of the moment. Give everyone like three weeks to get ready and then run it?

Rapid_Roo

I wish it was that easy. Problem most of the people are busy off running other rallies or racing or something. It would be easier to setup a canyon "cruise" but not a rally with timing and crews and such. :( I wish, I would like to do one at least once a month. :)

...the off road portion is a rallyist choice, we don't officially plan on using the dirt roads on a "road rally"...but some of the ITNer's like taking short cuts. ;)
