yes sir. Most of these parts are mine, were going into my car. I have a friend who sold his impreza. So some of these were from his car, which he no longer owns. I have no intentions of selling stuff over a period of time. These were personal items for personal use, which I need to get rid of.

Did you sell the other Spec C engine you had?

The DW3C7 (it should be CR, not C7) is not Spec C. Thats regular STi engine.

The DW4ER that is mentioned there is a Spec C Limited (which could be S202).

Just a heads up.

I'm not entirely sure about the DW3C7, a someone who has that code and it came w/ spec C cams. Imprezer, thank you for sharing your knowledge, where did you find your info on the DW3C7?

Stevied, the DW3c7 is currently a pending sale. I have the dw4er(which is def. spec C) without the manifold, available.

thanks,

- Jay

Oh weird. Never seen C7.

Is there a sticker on the back of the block? Driver's side. Should be similar sticker.

Last 2 weeks I have been researching all this trying to ID my motor (which turned out to be DW4ER = S202). That's how I know all that. I have not seen the C7, so thats why I said what I said. I was wrong, I guess.

Have you taken the intake manifold off? That will be another way of telling what the motor is.

There is a sticker on the back, has the same number. Yeah, its interesting trying to piece the puzzle together. I think what sets everyone back is there is these mismatched motors that subaru throws in, or that we just happen to get ahold of over here. The best explanation I've come to so far. I have not taken the intake manifold off the C7, taking the oil neck off, I observed that the cam lobes "appeared" to be the same shape as the DW4ER. I've heard of several other people getting ahold of DW4ER motors, weird we've seen so many of them in the states. Someone pointed out that the s202 had a red intake hose, but then I found out it was a dealer option along with the red valve covers. So the puzzle continues. I wasn't trying to be rude, I wouldn't say your wrong, just observant, it helps to have others opinions on this stuff. Even though, I've decided not to keep this engine, its all very fascinating to me, as I plan on going through with the swap eventually, if the wife can deal w/ it

Yeah, I know. I too am trying to get the key to all of this stuff.

One thing I am scared off, is that if all those random motors that we get here are out of crash cars. If they are, then, for example, a motor in a crashed S202 might not be same as the motor in the production S202. That is scary, hehe. Or more like sad.

I am on the right track in hunting down a factory engine code "secret book" so I will let you all know when I find it.
