Seeing how L.A. consists of millions of people i find these statistics hard to believe. If anything they're coincidence and LAPD's crediting their recent actions based on that.

I don't see any problem with taking away cars from street racers and drunk drivers if the LAPD sells the vehicles and donates the money to charity. Based on the story, they're just in it for some new equipment budget money which is wrong. It also shows motive to seize said vehicles without cause.

i like the photojournalism of the peice... going from street racing scenes to a nhra crash, to a crack head holding crack rocks in the palm of his hand.
