how does this work if the UTEC controls boost as well. I'm a little confused. Would I just get rid of my EBC?

Thanks

The software for the Utec will shortly have closed-loop boost control which makes an EBC obsolete for the most part. Some like the ability to switch boost on the fly with some EBCs. I imagine once the remote map change switch thing comes out for the Utec it will take care of that.

I met a guy at the track with a UTEC.

He was stuck in the 14's and PISSED iirc.

Anyone know if they are going to charge for the upgrades for the Utec? Like the remote switch unit for the maps?

Well there is 4 setting for maps on the utec, each one you can change for different applications, street, track or what ever. its not to hard to switch even with out the remote unit.

V6,
I've seen C5 vettes in the 14s...they were pissed also.

It sounds like this guy should have 1. Turned up the boost to the proper level, 2. Tuned his car (it is user tunable after all) or 3. Returned his UTEC (more than willing to take these things back, but so far no one has taken me up on that).

For what it's worth, I’ve had 2 utec equipped cars trap as high as 112.5 off N2o; one of them on pump gas. One guy with a UTEC has won his last 5 autox meets, and we managed to put an automatic equipped stg4 car to 13.0@106.

Not too bad if you ask me...

You will have to buy a remote switch, or make your own, as we've posted the pin-outs on www.wrxhackers.com

Software upgrades are free.

I would sell my Utec. You would need to buy my entire car through because one thing is for sure. They are not being seperated ever

Nathan, Was that 112.5 mph trap on a stock EJ20 and say it aint so it was done on 91 octane Chevron gas? Was that pass made with full interior and 18 inch rims? Dont tell me that was made on a Stock clutch either

On to the original thread... I am running the Utec with the Apex-I AVCR. I was going to hook up the Utec's boost control and I might down the road but I really like having the AVCR at my finger tips to show Peak numbers and to be able to go from 14-18 psi with a push of a button. EBC's work great with the Utec.

Nathan,

I have a question. I called and put my name and info on the list for the UTEC. That was probably about 3-4 weeks ago. Now I know it still will be a little while until I hear anything.... but the girl who took my info told me they'd call and get my Credit Card info when my name comes up. Is this the prefered way to do the transaction? I've talked to people who said they took the credit info the day the put their name on the list, and it was billed when it came in for them. I kind of would like this to be the case for me, to speed up the process, and assure that I do not get passed over. Any suggestions?

Hans,
It is much better for you to call and give us the credit card number ASAP. Otherwise there is a chance of us playing phone tag when the time comes to process your order. We never charge your card until the product ships, but having the card number on file makes things a whole lot easier.

So, I can just call, tell them the situation and they'll place my credit card info in the same slot my name was in?

Thanks

Yes, we'll keep your number on file in the computer system and charge the number when we actually ship your UTEC
