I watched that about a month ago after buying the DVD in a video store in Manhattan.

It was pretty good, but I can't say it was any better than the original series. I was hoping Takeshi would attempt to take Ichi in a different direction, but that never happened. Plus, I've seen so many of the original serials, it was hard to get by the new face of Ichi.

I found the CGI blood especially interesting, though! Yes, MORE blood! But it never gets on Ichi's clothing or his body, despite his victim spraying it harder than Richard with the Olson twins.
