I know, I know.. it's a long way down. but I want to go to rally GB this year and check it out in person. Has anyone gone before? How much did you spend on the trip? when did you make your reservation for transportations and hotel? Hard to get around? Thanks!

It is a great event to go to...I went in 2000!! The weather will suck compared to California..mostly cold and rainy.
Went with a friend who had been there before and had friends in England, which helped immensely...so they knew there way around. Maps work too.
If you want a cheap place to stay..look for it now rather than later.
The airfare wasn't too bad....food is a bit more being that they have to ship things from the mainland. Oh..don't expect great food over there..peas and fries are a staple over there...Ick!!!

Subways and trains are a cheap way to get around..fairly easy too or rent a car with a group.

Rallychic...erm where were you eating...you don't have to eat at the local fish and chips shop every night. The food in the UK is some of the best in the world. Walk through London, Manchester, Liverpool, ect and you'll find everything from russian to malay food. Much better selection than anywhere I've ever been in the states.
You can't beat a full english first thing in the morning. Much better than an egg mcmuffin.

Remember if you go you'll be in Wales, not England. Different country all together. Don't call the locals English people...they won't like it very much. Don't talk about sheep too much, you might get the locals excited.

Trains are a good way of getting around, I can't believe I'm saying that. All depends on how confident you are on the road. The roads in the UK are a lot smaller, and people as a general rule drive a lot faster than in North America. Don't forget to pick up an A-Z if you do decide to drive.

it's likely i'll be in the UK for school next year for an exchange, so i def want to go to Rally GB :). Rally GB is almost enough incentive to go for the exchange, lol.
